To give thanks to the monkeys, which help boost tourism in the area, the monkey buffet festival in Thailand was held in November each year at the ancient Khmer temple, Prang Sam Yot.
Opening the festival is the performance of monkeys dancing on the tables of colors that are presented with hundreds of fruits, sweets and beautifully colorful drinks to "entertain" more than 600 cute monkeys in the area.
Buffet tables are laid out with with over 4000 kilograms of fruits, vegetables, cakes, candies, colorful pyramids or simply laid out on mats by the temple, to the delight of the 3000 monkeys living in the area
In addition, visitors coming to participate in this festival are also immersed in the fun activities, are manually put the food in monkeys' mouth or music and dances with young people dress like monkeys, monkeys costumes, monkey masks...
The guests can also participate in parade activities during the festival, enjoy the performances or learn about special souvenir of the festival.
These monkey are very accustomed to human presence and they won't hesitate a second to climb on people and "borrow" valuable or food for an undefined period of time.
